Ok this is the skin which a friend of mine said would cause my boyfriend to pass out due to sudden blood loss when he sees me in it :)

For a guide all the items worn are listed below – i’ve not seen another avatar with this skin yet and I’m looking forward to that day so I can see how others dress them (though it is a shame to put any clothing over that skin).

A snakes skin

This is idea for the continued evolution of Brett. This is essentially based upon the idea that his old master, being stripped of a physical form inhabited a serpent. This serpent was brought into Avilion and sought out Brett as he slept safely – maybe in the arms of Chaz.

The serpent bites Brett and the venom keeps Brett from reacting in any way to the attack. As Brett had been subjected to many rituals to make him ready as a vessel for the life force of his old master it is easy for the evil Mage to enter into Brett’s mind and body. The snake coils itself around Brett’s arm becomming similiar in appearance to a tattoo of a snake eating its own tail.

Chaz is awoken and senses something is wrong with his lover. His eyes are wide open and they they slitted eyes of a snake! His skin is cold, so cold.

Brett remains in a catatonic state and there two outcomes. People can either work out that he is being possessed and drive out the spirit once and for all or they miss the signs and Brett as a person ceases to exist.

If nothing is done then the soul of Brett is lost forever. The phycical form that was Brett will leave Avilion to return to the evil ways if the soul that controls his body.

If the spirit is driven out then Brett will be forever changed. He has absorbed the life force of a magically imbuded serpent. In pratical terms this means that Brett is no longer human. His eyes are forever changed to those of a snake. In addition, Brett can call upon this inner power to transform his physical form into a more robust humanoid with a distinct serpent look. Whilst he has a humanoid form his skin is actually changed to the scales if the serpent which was absorbed into his body during the failed possession.

This transformation is typically triggered by great physical need (combat) or an emotionally charged encounter.

Brett does not inherit any powers as a result of the transformation. He does have a weakness in this form for the cold as he essentially a reptile.

This is all just theory at the moment – the idea may never actually be played out. I do have the skin and shape and this will be well used as I travel outside of Avilion to various fantasy sims that have a great appreciation for the male form.

Drama at Nexus

I was wandering along the ground of Avilion Nexus when I noticed a curious contraption stuck in the trees. It looked out of place and quite ugly next to the majestic ships. Lady Tempest happened on by and took a few notes about the contraption which apperently is called a helicopter.

This is all just a preamble though. The drama (in the good sense of the word) took place when Chazmian (Chaz) Xelentat arrived on the scene.

Chaz is very dear to me, a kind, thoughtful, considerate, tender man. In addition he is exceptionally handsome, sexy and had cute pointed ears that I adore nibbling. Now Chaz introduced me to his good friend Lady Tempest and he floundered a bit over what to introduce me as. I stood by and enjoyed to see him flounder for the words and at the same time I wanted to gather him in my arms and kiss him for being so sweet.

After we were left on our own we discussed our relationship as it had indeed gone beyond that of friendship. The sentimental half-elf got down on one knee and asked if I would officially become his boyfriend – getting mud on his fine pants in the process.

I accepted of course! I have had strong feelings for Chaz since I first met him and though in RL we are thousands of miles apart I care for him and want to protect and be protected by him. In truth I have not had such feelings for anyone else in SL and it’s a bit scary (again in a good way).

I make therefore a vow to the man who has my heart. To none other shall I go to. Whilst I may partake of a friendly dance it will be he that I think of. He had my heart and he shall keep it until he has no more need of it. I ask for nothing similar in return from the keeper of my heart. I want only that they are happy and content.

Each moment we are together is precious. Each second we are apart an eternity.

Disclaimer: Brett of course retains the right to window shop the tasty offerings that happen by from time to time. Though he shall never actually sample what’s on offer. Chaz would be upset if Brett did not let him know about some drop dead gorgeous man that may need some brotherly aid keeping the giggling fae at arms length.

Magi combat

I must get some training in Magi combat done. I’ve not been able to attend any specific magi combat classes in the past two weeks – they have either been cancelled or are run in the middle if the night for me.

I only have one magi staff as well – I will probably have to get another one so I am more versitile.

There is no end of training opportunities for swords and a good number for the bow but very few for spell staves (magi or druid). Using a staff is really tricky compared to a sword – a sword is the easiest weapon to use.

With a sword you just need to keep out if attack range, block and attack. With a stave (or staff as the name us interchangeable) you have to deal with clicking (out of mouselook) on the spell you want, aiming and conserving mana. They are in my opinion the most difficult weapons to master – second only to a bow. Rangers and Knights will probably refute such claims but it’s my opinion and I’ll stick with it.

The good news us that Chaz also wants to train so we may well find ourselves running around the magi arena hurling fireballs and lightening bolts at each other instead of having a flirt and/or dance. I do also have the chat group to use to try and get people to come along and train with but I’ve had a few tumbleweed moments with that – it may be because the magi are a smaller class.

I want to get better as I want to be in a CTA. I’ve watched a few and it’s really boring after 20 minutes just watching them! I lack confidence in my own abilities at the moment.

Gifts

I was shopping – something that I do not do often as I see so much dross and very little sparkle. I stumbled upon a quite fine store selling Victorian style clothing for both men and ladies. The quality of the clothing was outstanding and I simply had to get three outfits – with matching boots of course.

One particular outfit grabbed my attention and I thought how well it would look upon my dear friend Chaz (Chazmian Xeltentat). It was a black with blue dressing formal affair – very good looking just like Chaz.

I bought Chaz a copy of the outfit with matching boots and I look forward to having an excuse to see him in it – at a dance for Christmas I hope. I have the same outfit myself I liked it so much!

Chaz is so sweet that he wanted to get me something in return – this was of course not needed but greatfully accepted. The first gift was something you may find a bit odd – a garden gate. It’s not the typical gift from one gay to another but it was given with great thought.

The gate is a perfect addition to my small landholding – do a search in SL for Emerald Dreams. Each time I see the gates (I placed two of them) I’ll think of Chaz – especially as he was wearing a damn fine (sexy) outfit at the time of purchase.

The second thing he got was very touching indeed – a pendant. It is gold and emerald in addition to being one that is not generally available. Each time I place it around my neck I shall think of my special half-elf. The weight of it on my chest will remind me of their tender touch.

These gifts – though given with genuine thought and feeling amount to little next to the gift of friendship that I share with Chaz. I treasure that most of all.

Emerald DreamsEmerald Dreams is a 4096 square metre plot of land. The ground had been given over to a feast of magical green plants and crystals plus the one item I "sell" – my free speed rez gesture for the popular Emerald Viewer (an alternative Second Life client). I got a bit fed up with what was really a dull place that should be my home – so I have started a redesign.

You still teleport in to an emerald green area. The emerald stargate, crystals and gesture giver are still there. The entry area is set behind a low hedge so the "commercial" part of the parcel is obscured from the residential part. At each side of the low hedge (hidden from the residential part) is a notice that what lies beyond is a personal home and roleplay area.

Visitors are welcome of course but they need to respect the privacy of a home (in other words if I come home and find stangers making use of my bed then I’ll want to know just what the hell do they think they are doing).

Downside #1 is the bed. It’s a fantastic looking bed but it is girl/boy animation loaded. Not that I actually use a bed in Second Life for anything more than sleep, kissing and cuddles! It may confuse some people into thinking that I chase skirts – perish the thought!

Back the the description…

The plot is dominated by a Tudor cottage (with tiled roof rather than thatch so you know I must be rich). To each side is a tall hedge which cuts off the rear garden from the rest of the parcel. You can only enter the rear garden by going through the cottage.

The cottage itself has two rooms. You enter into the kitchen and living room which has doors to the bedroom and back garden. The focus of the main room is a hearth which serves as fire and cooker. The bedroom focus is the massive four post bed.

I just need to do a few finishing touches to the layout but I am very pleased with how things look at the moment.

This has transformed the plot from a confused collection of green things into an attractive home and garden.

Brett Stonewall - medievalA follower of the 1990’s sci-fi show "Babylon 5" will recognise the questions asked by the Vorlorns and Shadows. The first I already know – it’s my role-play character background. The second is a more complex matter.

I am drifting more away from the SL Pride activities – the whole thing seems to be full of committees and little real progress which is worrying as things are supposed to go live for 2010. I had intended to help organise a fund raiser in the leather community but I think that will be a non-starter.

The leather community is to small and fragmented to allow me to run such an event without showing favour for one venue. Also I do not have the time to arrange such an event – best to not even start than try and fail.

I’ve started to grow complacent with the leather community as well. 99.9% of it is simply to get traffic for venues with malls. The rest has a sexual element to it which I personally have no interest in – at least in Second Life. If a guy chats me up in a bar in RL and they are in leather then it is highly likely I’ll end up in their bed or they in mine. The same is not so for me in SL. I find sex in SL to offer no titillation or satisfaction whatsoever.

I get a bit tired if people assuming that being openly gay and dancing because I am enjoying the music and company at an SL venue us seen by some to imply that I need or want sex. I don’t know if this is a problem also experienced in the straight community simply because I have not been to a straight club in two years – I hosted at Xanadu.

Anyway – just what the hell do I (Brett Stonewall) want?

#1 To finally become a magi

#2 To be accepted simply for who I am and not what I am

I have a lot to do to gain #1 and not really a lot as I have already gained #2 to the most part.

I need to first regain the Guardian and the Greeter roles I lost when I left Avilion at the start of August 2009. The Guardian I hope shall only be a matter of time. I must prove myself once again – without such a thing as a Guardian Quest there is no other way I think. The Greeter can only happen after the Guardian.

I can’t apply to become a pupil of the mist without the Guardian – it all hinges on that you see.

BUT…

I’m not going to harp on about Guardian status. I’m not going to query why I have not been given it. I will be patient.

It’s interesting to stand back and simply observe. You see things which the close partcipants would otherwise overlook.

There are many reasons for people finding their way to a sim like Avilion. Some come because they bought the fancy clothing and want to show it off and others arrived with no preconceptions and wear the free clothing. Which is of more value?

Should the fae rightly flutter around the lady in the sparkling dress who just arrived or should people encourage the nervous and slightly overwhelmed maiden in the plain dress to join them and tell them all about herself.

The answer of course is both options.

I have sadly witnessed incidents of people thinking that they have been ignored when they arrive at the drum circle. In most cases that is simply not the case of course. Even when a newcomer was being ignored there was a valid reason – a roleplay was going on and to suddenly break into a chorus of welcomes would not have made sense.

It’s sad that people are still unaware that there is such a thing as a chat radius and also the very simple fact that chat does not stay on the screen long. If I were to arrive at a busy spot and not get a response to my greeting then I’d simply carry on speaking.

I’d not have what I can only describe as a fit worthy of a prima donna. That is exactly what I saw on Sunday – I’ll not name names but one lady basically branded all people in Avilion as elitist, empty headed, prudes who are afraid to wake up and smell the coffee.

Now I am not actually aware of what she may or may not have said before as I heard that only as she walked past me and entered chat range.

Curious how one who has such opinions would walk away from the drum circle and wander around for a while rather than simply teleport away. Then again they were probably hanging around so that someone could respond to her little outburst. I’ve noticed that such outbursts are mostly a simple way of getting attention.

Next we have what could be a thorny issue. I speak of the three cardinal sins – sex, politics and religion. These three are (in my opinion) to be taken in very small doses only.

Of sex: I make no secret of my sexuality yet I do not go around screaming it either. It is relevent only when it has need to be – like when I had to correct someone who had mistakingly assumed I would have asked a lady to accompany me to the ball. I corrected them in a charming manner of course. Flirtation, cuddles and kissing is all that I think should be permitted in Avilion.

Politics of the real world simply have no place in Avilion – that should I think extend to holidays that are not recognised on an international level. Thanksgiving and independence day being prime examples.

WordPress ate the other half of this post! It was a good post too.

Brett Stonewall and Chazmian Xeltentat @ Avilion Grove

Brett Stonewall and Chazmian Xeltentat @ Avilion Grove

Yesterday I had the honour of granting someone a wish. Chazmian (Chaz) Xelentat, a charming and most handsome half-elf, had long wished to dance in the great ballroom of Avilion Grove but nobody had asked him to! Of course the person asking had to be a man and I am grateful to the fates for that man being me.

I had intended upon dancing in the clouds with Chaz at the Poseidon’s Ball but he was not able to attend as he was going to be working then. So the dance in the ballroom of Avilion Grove was in way a compromise – for now.

I do have to say that I am astounded that nobody (I should say no man) had approached Chaz before and asked him for a dance. It is well known he is both graceful and charming. I know of a few other men (and ladies of course) who share a deep fondness for those of their own gender and this is treated wonderfully in Avilion. There is no lewdness in a man dancing with another man or a lady with another lady – it is accepted as simply another bit of the magic of Avilion.

As I danced with Chaz I received several IM’s from those around saying that we looked wonderful together and that really felt good – not as good as having him in my arms in the first place of course!

I arrived late, I’d been helping someone with a viewer problem. There were four in the class Sir Cezar, Lady Maplesky, Lady Sandra (in feline form) and of course – me. The class was taken by Lady Xen.

We were given simple instructions and asked to form, between ourselves a simple, short roleplay with a magi element to it.

The first was one around a misunderstanding, overreaction, conflict and use of force. I was not really comfortable to carry out such a roleplay – I thought it was ambitious to attempt such a thing. Rpleplaying conflict whilst maintaining realism is exceptionally difficult. I also had concerns that the suggestor was trying to over script and therefore limit the roleplay.

Sadly my fears were proved to be true. One person blindly followed their script without paying attention to the actions of others. They reacted to actions before they happened and ignored other actions that had openings for the entire group to move forward.

In the end I simply stopped interacting -it was dreadful. The person who ignored the actions of others made some comment about having “learnt something” and they left – in a huff I think.

Those left all agreed that the whole thing was very confusing simply because the actions being taken did not make sense and things happened too fast. We all felt very uncomfortable.

I was then asked to come up with an idea for a simple RP. Mine was that Lady Sandra had accidentally dropped a Druidic totem into the fire pit and wanted it back. I then gave the twist – the flames can’t be extinguished by any means.

The roleplay was open ended and the resulting interaction was wonderful.

I think this serves to illustrate an errorsde by many novice roleplayers. Keep it simple and do not script actions. If people do not have thr change to freely act and react then it is not roleplay – it is simply following a script.

Also, conflict should be left out of roleplay unless you are really confident you can pay attention to and adjust accordingly to the actions of others.
